How to install and uninstall software in Mac OS X is different than in Windows. We’ll get that “Add/Remove programs” in the Mac environment would feel very easy compared to the Windows environment.
Files in Mac applications that previously in packs in a zip, bin, sit, hqx, tar, bz2, etc. can actually directly in use after the extract to the hard disk. The advantage of such systems is that users do not bother to re-install the applications that have been installed on the hard drive as the Windows environment, so even if you re-install your Mac OS X, the program has been installed before (of course in data partitions other than those filled with Mac OS X) can still be used.
