Ever wanted to post a status update on Facebook, but not, want all your friends to read it? Unfortunately, because of social pressure, it is impossible to not be friends with certain people on Facebook.
In cases where you are trapped friends with someone you do not like and do not want to know certain things about yourself, there are ways to hide the status updates from Facebook only certain friends.
First, type in your status update as usual. Once you’re finished, do not click Share! Instead click on the small key icon located on the left button Share.

When you click, you’ll see a set of options. By default, this is set to Friends Only. This means that only your friends can see your status. Other options include Everyone, Friends and Networking, Friends of Friends, and Customize.
Another option is quite clear. In our case, we will select Customize so that we can hide our status from certain people.

Custom dialog Privacy Now will appear and you can choose to make visible the status of certain people or you can choose to hide their status from certain people.

In this case, you can start typing a name into the “Hide this from” and this will ensure that your friends will not see your status in their News Feed.
If you’re confused by all the changes that occurred recently at Facebook’s privacy settings, you may want to check your main settings to ensure the privacy of your status updates will not be shown to all your friends.
You can do this by going to Account at the top right and select Privacy Settings.
Now you will see the Share in Facebook, which basically breaks it down into the All people, Friends of Friends, Friends Only, Features, and Custom. I personally choose Custom to make sure Facebook does not try to publish my information to all my friends.
