Although Nintendo is safe for all claims 3DS among gamers, but they do not recommend for children under the age of 7 years. Console handheld three-dimensional (3D), this can damage the eye functions.
“We really do not recommend children under seven years old to play this console. Because the muscles of the eyes of children in that age have not been able to receive 3D images very well,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America president, as quoted from Twitteling CVG, Saturday (19/06/2010).
In addition to 3DS, Japanese companies also believe that existing 3D technology in the movies today could adversely affect children’s eye health. “Film industry which uses 3D technology also imposes the same thing. So, it’s kind of a special protocol,” Fils-Aime added,
3DS is the newest Nintendo console that carries a three-dimensional picture display capability. Unlike other devices that require glasses, this handheld console does not require special tools to produce 3D images.
If viewed from the Nintendo product portfolio, it looks like console 3DS indeed have different market segments this time. Whereas before, most Nintendo console users are children.
