
Installing VLC Media Player v1.1.1 on Ubuntu 10.4/9.10
VLC Media Player is a favorite open source applications for Linux users and now has available the latest version which is a beta version application. Although this is not the only application for free video player, but this is the best one
Users can now get advance frame by frame, the velocity of granular control allows for playing movies slower or faster when playing, and recording live streaming video. The new toolbar is now fully customizable, so users can have only the necessary buttons in a more simple interface.
Along with the improvements, VLC continues to offer strong support for various video and audio formats, including OGG, MP2, MP3, MP4, DivX, HD codecs such as AES3, Raw Dirac, and even support for playing back a zip file. To install the application 10.04/9.10 VLC 1.1.1 in Ubuntu, open a terminal and run the following command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:c-korn/vlc
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc mozilla-plugin-vlc
