Though Palm has been on the acquisition of Hewlett-Packard (HP), does not mean development just stopped WebOS 2.0. This operating system is ready to present even stated in late 2010 to counter the dominance of Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS4.
Jon Rubinstein Palm CEO reveal little about WebOS 2.0 leaks. He promises there will be a big change in the smart phone OS. As quoted by Twitteling from techtree, Monday (24/07/2010), Rubinstein declared in an interview with Fortune webOS 2.0 coming soon later this year.
Unfortunately, he does not want to spell out the details about what new features are available on the OS. But he made sure that the new OS is released with HP will be able to compete against Android and iOS4 tight.
Thus, HP has bought Palm, is now preparing to go back to the handheld device market. This giant vendor had said no longer make phones based on Windows and Android, and will only rely on WebOS on mobile devices.
WebOS is itself a mobile operating system vendors used by Palm, and running with the Linux kernel. The latest version is 1.4.5 OS was released on July 15, 2010 then. No different from other OS, WebOS designed for touch screen devices and supporting technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
