What’s new in this release?
Geolocation support. Skyfire now supports Geolocation HTML5 features. So, for example, Google and other web pages that use the location feature will be fully working.
Vertical Search Results. When searching for results with Skyfire several options available, such as Google, Video, Trends, Twitter and Amazon. We will add more providers from time to time, so send us.
Set as Default Browser. For Android 1.5 to 2.1 Skyfire supports setting a default option in the Skyfire browser. Unfortunately, the Android 2.2 does not provide that option.
Additional features in this release
Android 2.2 / FroYo enhancements: Fixed several issues related to cosmetics and certain FroYo accident.
10.1Â Flash-related enhancements: UI Addressed overlapping and background audio problems with Flash. We recommend that users change the settings for Plug-in for “On Demand” under Browser Settings tab browsing experience snappier.
Updated Video startup behavior: We optimized from the video sequence clearly distinguish between the pre-loading and buffering.
That way you can remove the + / – zoom button if they do not want.
Increased Pinch to zoom in for HTC devices (Evo, Incredible, etc.). We found a way to reduce yard shift after pinching a systemic behavior for several HTC devices.
Fixed crash and forced to close several issues related to what we found.
Unknown Problems
Find video and 25% stuck problem. Supporting videos from millions of web sites on the Web is not a trivial effort. We’re getting better and better and support more than 100,000 websites and counting. Another major upgrade coming out soon because it is so stay tuned.
Upstream: will not work since the first does not have the right to support content for mobile devices and thus is blocking Skyfire.
