Last year, Twitter is considering service to buried with e-commerce services. But now, micro-blogging site that’s ready to fight for facilitating transactions via his Twitter Tweet.

As quoted Twitteling from New York Times, Wednesday (07/06/2010), a special account set up for this project named @earlybird Exclusive Offers. On this page the user could follow that account to gain access to the transaction.

The idea of e-commerce itself is inspired by sites like Gilt sales, woot Groupun and acquired by Amazon.com. Not only that, they were also inspired by the profits earned PC company, Dell, in conducting transactions conducted via Twitter.


Transactions of the product could be the iPod, music tickets, travel packages up to diaper a baby. Twitter admitted, prospective sellers and buyers can filter the product categories, such as clothes or gadgets. They also claimed to be more selective with who can transact to avoid online fraud.

“Sellers can determine the price and how many items are available. This is an experiment with different models,” said spokesman Sean Garrett as Twitter. Is this service free? Apparently not entirely free of cost. Because, Twitter will get a ‘part’ of the advertiser.

“The first contract will emerge soon,” said Garrett. Original plan of this service will only be accessible in certain places. But now being considered to offer a more global service again.
