After receiving pressure from the government of Japan, Apple has finally decided to send a notice on its website regarding the condition overheat at the iPod Nano in Japan.

Previously, the Japanese government itself, through the Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry, admitted that he had received at least 61 cases overheat iPod Nano on sale in Japan in the period 2005 to 2006.

Some units of the iPod Nano is estimated to have issued excessive heat that potentially cause minor burns to anyone touching it. But in the report stating there are no serious injuries caused. Therefore, an announcement to make replacement batteries have been posted by Apple on its official site in Japan at the end of last year, although some people claim is difficult to click on the notice.


Japan Government also urged the Japanese Apple to fix this problem. Finally, Japan claims Apple are working on a web page that is easily accessible in the near future to seek the replacement battery. Apple also made sure to send e-mail to the registered owner of the iPod Nano

“Safety is the highest priority for Apple,” said Tom Neumayr, as quoted by the Straits Times, Saturday (07/08/2010). Japan is one of the biggest fans of Apple products in the world.

The ministry said there are at least approximately 1.8 million units the first generation iPod Nano has sold in Japan, but it is unclear how many of them have a battery problem.

Mr. Neumayr declined to comment on whether the Nano players in other parts of the world may be affected by similar problems.
