Apple said it has patched a number of ‘holes’ in the PDF that affect a number of their mobile devices, including iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
This patch itself packaged in IOS 4.0.2 for iPhone and iPod Touch 3.2.2, and the IOS for iPad. However, the update is done effectively on the device that has been in-Jailbreak.
Previously, security experts also fear the vulnerability of the PDF can be hijacked by malicious hackers to gain remote control over IOS device.
“Strangely, the only way to protect your iPhone and iPod touch is their jailbreak. Once jailbroken, the device can be patched with the fixes that are available from within Cydia,” writes Christopher Price of Phone News, was quoted Thursday (08/12/2010).
“Historically, Apple released a major update before the security updates, as long as the user running the newest branch of the next generation OS,” he added.
Added by Price, update to version 3.2.2 of the iPad is a policy in action. However, this is also the first time that Apple does not upgrade the device to the branch is the latest release version of IOS.
