So far, Google Street View resisted because many people considered to violate someone’s privacy with the appearance of the face could be seen by users of the service. However, it seems that the problem would soon be resolved soon.

The reason is a software developed by students of the University of California, San Diego be able to eliminate pedestrians in public areas that are in Google’s Street View.

The software itself works with identify human shapes in the images and delete them. Then fill in the gaps with pixels than anything in the back of the person, such as walls, grass, sidewalks, bricks and so forth.


The software itself together with the same technique used in image editing programs, but they require some manual manipulation. Similarly quoted by PC World, Wednesday (08/11/2010).

Street View recently indeed reap the middle of controversy. On the one hand, many people who helped with this service but many feel uncomfortable because their privacy disturbed.

Because, Street View taking photographs of buildings or roads and displays them with detail. So many are worried that these services are used by criminals to spy on a house or building targeted.

In fact, other European countries including England, Germany, Austria and Italy had openly protested Google. What’s more when they learned that the Internet giant is also collected data on Wi-Fi access to their residents. These countries agreed to assume Google has violated the privacy rights of its citizens.
