Production of software code known as malware or malicious programs that may damage user’s computer and steal passwords to reach the highest peak in the first six months in 2010.
This was revealed by security firm McAfee’s computer and the internet. McAfee released data shows the total number of malware production continues to increase and approximately 10 million new malware code compiled in a catalog.
“Our latest report shows that the malware middle reaches highest growth in the first half year 2010,” said Chief Technology Officer of McAfee’s Global Threat Intelligence, Mike Gallagher.
Cited by Twitteling from Reuters, Wednesday (11/09/2010), McAfee also warned users of Mac computers. Though generally considered a Mac computer users safe from virus attacks. However, in the McAfee report states that any Mac computer users potentially affected by malware attacks.
Last April, McAfee detected a virus Labs Mac-based Trojan known as OSX / HellRTS. The virus is read or modify content clipboard or play a trick on the user such as opening and closing the CD drive.
“We do not want to exaggerate this attack. But as a reminder that in this era of cybercrime as it is now, data theft and identity of users all operating systems and devices should be prevented,” the McAfee report.
