Samsung C9000, the world’s thinnest 3D TV

Samsung reportedly has launched a TV LED (Light-emitting diode) display with thin as 7.98 millimeters. TV with the ability of three-dimensional (3D) is claimed as the thinnest TV in the world.

C9000, as Samsung call it, has a 55 inch screen size are coated with stainless steel bezel.

“This new device has the capability to convert 2D to 3D content directly through the chip CD,” Samsung executive said one Ravinder Zutshi, cited by Twitteling from the site of The Hindu, Friday (8/6/2010).


It is said Ravinder, C900 offers other features including a touch screen remote control with three-inch LCD screen, Blu-Ray player device and 3D glasses.

“We managed to sell about 7,000 to 8,000 TV and hopes to sell about 30,000 at the end of this year,” Ravinder said when asked about the sale of Samsung 3D TV since it was launched April.

Related content, Ravinder said today Samsung are trying to enhance 3D content. According to estimates, in 2014 approximately 20 percent of Hollywood movies will be available in 3D format.

“Some studios also are trying to convert the show into a good 3D classical format,” Ravinder said, adding, TV is valued from U.S. $ 2,299 are immediately available in the market starting this weekend.
