Microsoft employs music band Gorillaz to help promote the launch of IE9 Beta.
Gorillaz is one fellow Microsoft to launch IE9; HTML5 which now has content, features streaming video, music and 3D graphics, as quoted from Pocket-Lint, on Thursday (16/09/2010).
Fans of Gorillaz can access additional content on Murdoc IE9 Niccal Club Room at gorillaz.com / club-room or on Gorillaz.com. At these sites there are also some links to download the file browser.
Ashley Highfield, Managing Director & VP Consumer & Online Microsoft UK explained that the purpose of IE9 is to create an application from that site: “This is not about the browser, but this is about the website itself,” he said.
Leila Martine, director of Windows Consumer, Microsoft UK, underlines the philosophy that IE9 change the website becomes an extension of the operating system Microsoft Windows. “We are now promoting the websites as a first class citizen on Windows,” says Martine.
Martine also explains why the new version of the browser has a lot of ‘back’ button is great: One thing people do when surfing the internet is one of them using the ‘back’ “,
“Tomorrow finally came. IE9 was like the gates of a miracle,” commented Murdoc, one of Gorillaz personnel.
