Once the current popularity of social networking sites is not going to make Mozilla a talkative to follow to make social networking sites.
Mitchell Baker, founder and chairwoman of the Mozilla said this when interviewed by the Legal Midplaza at Intercontinental Hotel, Jakarta, in the framework of official visit of Mozilla Firefox in Indonesia, on Monday (9/27/2010).
“To answer that question, then I will answer ‘No’ and ‘Yes’,” says Baker.
“First to the word ‘No’; we will not try to create a social networking site, or trying to compete with companies in social networking,” said Baker.
“As for the word ‘Yes’; we are now experimenting with what is an internet browser to do. A browser that can help you to trace anyone who you know and how you can get to know them. Browsers like that’s what we are now being experimented with, “added Baker.
Is the answer that was brought by Mitchell Baker is an implication that Mozilla is currently developing a new type of social networking services? We’ll see.
