samsung Samsung launches latest processor 1 GHzSamsung has launched the latest ARM Cortex A9 which is a 1GHz dual-core processor for the latest generation of mobile devices.

Chip that runs on 45nm architecture which has a code name Orion has a pair of brain features 1GHz ARM Cortex A9, each loaded with a 32KB data cache and 32KB instruction cache.

Quoted by TG Daily, Wednesday (09/08/2010) This processor is also equipped with 1MB of L2 cache, which optimizes CPU performance and provide fast context switching in multi-tasking environment.


In addition, 1GHz processor memory interface architectures that offer more advanced and able to support HD video playback 30fps, recording 1080P and 3D games.

“By using the enhanced graphics processing unit (GPU), Orion provides five times the 3D graphics performance of previous generation processors,” explained a spokesman for Samsung Dojun Rhee.

Rhee also noted that mobile devices are supported by the Orion processor will offer support for two simultaneous display on the device – while driving a third external display, such as a TV or monitor via an HDMI 1.3a interface on-chip.
