Why is it that we love Android so much? Perhaps it’s because of the amazing app support, or perhaps it’s the large number of apps that are available, most of which are completely free in the Android Market. Whatever the reason is, these are five apps that if you haven’t downloaded yet, you need to ASAP!
For the Google Nexus One:
1. Trillian Beta: If you are big into instant messsaging, then this is the app for you. It brings Windows Live Messenger, Facebook Chat, and several other IM programs all into one easy to use app.
2. Expensify: Those that have to deal with expense accounts know that this is a royal pain, but with Expensify, you can easily add expenses to your phone, and even take photos of your receipts and add them to the report, a must have for the professionals out there.
3. LauncherPro: For those that want to change how your Android device looks, but don’t want to try rooting, need to download this app. The ways you can customize your device are almost head spinning.
4. Angry Birds: You really don’t need to be reminded of how this game will change your life, for the better.
5. Agenda Widget: Keep your life in order with this handy widget.
For the HTC Droid Incredible
1. TweetDeck: Perhaps one of the best and easiest to use apps for Twitter, and allows for multiple Twitter accounts.
2. AppBrain App Market: This might be the best way to search the Android Market. This app allows you to easily find the apps you want and need, and has a section dedicated to the latest and greatest apps in the Market.
3. ROM Manager: For those that love to try out ROMs on your Android device, this is the best way to keep them all organized. It also allows you find and download new ROMs for your device.
4. DoubleTwist: This might be the best music app on the market today. Along with the desktop companion, you can easily manage music, get to your podcasts, and find radio stations from around the nation.
5. Better Terminal Emulator Pro: Ever need access to your computer but don’t have access to it? With this app, you can gain access to one of your machines at home, and it is easy to use.
For the HTC Hero:
1. Google Voice: This is probably the most useful app on an Android phone. You can find contacts, businesses, reference articles, and so much more. There is no limit to what you can do with this app.
2. Google Listen: Easily find, download, and listen to your favorite podcasts whenever and wherever you are.
3. TouchDown (Paid): Kepp up with everything that you normally would with Exchange, all on your Android device.
4. DropBox: Access important documents and files on your Android device.
5. Quick Boot: A root app that will allow you to easily repoot your phone normally, or reboot it in recovery, or bootloader. A must if you enjoy ROMs
For The Droid 2:
1. Mobile banking apps: For those that want to know what their money situation is without having to find an ATM, these are vital.
2. Seesmic for Android: Perhaps the easiest Twitter app available out there today. Has a number of features that keeps you well informed of what’s going on in the Twitter universe.
3. Poynt: For those that are tired of downloading multiple apps to find what you need. Poynt will help you find restaurants, gas prices, movies and so much more.
4. Foursquare: Easily check in to different locations to earn badges, and let others know what’s up. You can also post your location to Twitter and Facebook.
5. PdaNet: Have you ever been somewhere and the internet access is either weak or unreliable? With this app, you can tether this app to a computer, and get fast and reliable internet access.
For the HTC Magic:
1. ScoreMobile: Need the latest scores and stats? With this app, you can get them within 2 minutes of live action, and covers a large number of sports.
2. gReader: The Google Reader app easily keeps you updated with all of your RSS feeds at the touch of the screen. Allows for popup notifications, contains no ads, and an easy to read format.
3. SoundHound (Paid): Do you need to know what the title of a song is, or the artist, or even the lyrics to that song, or you can even find the same info for any YouTube video.
4. Daily Text: Would you like to have scripture sent to you daily for inspiration? This is the app for you.
5. ttTumblr: Keep up with, and update your Tumblr account right from your Android device. Quick and easy to use, it’s a must for anyone that uses Tumblr.
And back to where we started, the Google Nexus One:
1. Google Maps: You have likely already used Google Maps to find directions, but with Google Maps for Android, you can see what the traffic looks like on your route, and updates your route to avoid construction, accidents, or heavy traffic.
2. Pandora Radio: If you’re tired of over-the-air radio, this is the app for you. Create custom playlists, and build a radio station based on what YOU like, not some programmer at a radio station.
3. Handcent SMS: If you’re tired of the same ol same ol when texting, you need this app. With it, you can add pictures to your contacts to avoid embarrassing texts, and so many more options.
4. Evernote: Have you ever found yourself needing to remember something, but can’t? With this app, you can take a photo of a note you have written, upload it, and recall it anytime you need to.
5. Mint.com: If you have multiple accounts at multiple banks, you need this app. It easily allows you to keep track of where your money is, and helps you keep track of spending.
