Does the world need a new browser again? Tim and Eric Howes Vishria think so. That is one reason why two years ago they started Rockmelt, received donations from the financial organization Andreessen Horowitz and employs several people to help work on that browser. The result is a browser Rockmelt finally launched today and will be available in beta.
This is a bold step performed by Tim Howes and Eric Vishria. They entered the browser market dominated by Microsoft (Internet Explorer), Google (Chrome), Mozilla (Firefox) and Apple (Safari). Tim and Eric Howes Vishria launched a desktop browser, which works on Windows and Mac OS, in an era when computer switched mobile device touch. Similarly, as quoted by GigaOM, Monday.
Vishria and Howes said the reason they started the company it was when the use of websites and services used by people who have changed, the browser itself has not changed so much. “Modern Web has evolved at one point, where the user requires a new browsing experience,” said Vishria, CEO of Rockmelt.
Vishria also denied that the average product in the browser market is focused on minimal user experience, ease of navigation and speed. While focused by Rockmelt is about web usability on the user; which focuses on content consumption, socio-sharing and social networking.
Vishria and Howes said that it is about time. Thank you for increasing broadband penetration, increase in cloud-based services and mainstream adoption of social services like Facebook and Twitter. “The browser itself is needed to bersosial,” said Howes.
“Most people communicate with her friends and only a few to check several sites. Now we make it easier for them to stay connected and get information, “said Vishria. Rockmelt integrating Facebook, Twitter and other social networking services into its browser. At the same time, Rockmelt make it easier to add news feeds and other information sources. The browser is based on the Chromium (project behind the open source browser Google Chrome), requires users to sign-in using your Facebook account. Once you have logged-in, users can add favorite friends and favorite news feed on the left side of the right browser.
