Sharp did not want to miss enjoying the sweetness of the tablet market. Japan-based company was also planning to launch the Galapagos.
Galapagos is a tablet device made by Japanese electronics manufacturers. Launched by Akihabara, Sharp has been committed to the product launch on 10 December, before the holiday season underway.
Unfortunately, Sharp chose a safe market with the launch of the Galapagos in Japan first.
Later this device will use Google’s operating system, Android. To meet the needs of different screens, Sharp provides two variants of the Galapagos with different sizes, 5.5 inches and 10.8 inches.
For the Galapagos with a screen measuring 5.5 inches, the design is almost similar to the Dell Streak. The screen is equipped with TFT technology with a resolution of 1024×600, while the larger screen resolution of 1366×800.
Both are also equipped with a wireless connection wifi and storage capacity of 8GB, micro SDHC slot, USB port and headphone jack.
Galapagos small size weighs approximately 220 grams with battery life approximately 7 hours, while the large size has a greater weight also with longer battery life, approximately 765 grams and 10.5 hours.
Rumors are circulating, Galapagos will be priced approximately USD360 mini great while approximately USD460
