Until the end of third quarter 2010 (Q3), reported sales of smart phones increased rapidly. Based on data by Twitteling quotes from Gartner, the growth year-on-year in Q3 alone reached 35 percent.
Guess who the champion in Q3 this time? Apparently Android was in peak flow competition smart phone competition, followed by Apple in second.
Android which previously had 3.5 percent market share in Q3 2009, a sharp increase in the rate 25.5 percent in Q3 2010. This figure makes Android was second overall under Symbian, which now controls 44.6 percent share of global smart phone market.
Recorded during Q3 2010, Samsung became the Android vendor with the highest sales total of 6.6 million units.
In the second position, a slight shift Apple RIM with sales of 13.5 million units in Q3 2010. Apple’s sales figure was the highest in Europe, Asia, and Japan.
