There are currently no signs of Nokia will adopt Android, despite the popularity of Google’s mobile operating system made it seemed unstoppable. Though Google’s own party real hope, Nokia will want to hold Android.

Is Andy Rubin, vice president of Google’s Mobile Platforms, who expresses the hope that as quoted from Computerworld. However, Rubin refused to clarify whether there had been discussions between Google and Nokia on Android.

“I think this company (Nokia) has a new leadership, they evaluate what their options. I am a big supporter of Android, and I also hope they adopt it,” Rubin said in a conference.

Nokia is still a leader of the world smartphone market, with market share of around 34%. But the Symbian OS used in most smartphones Nokia is deemed obsolete. According to Rubin, Symbian is faded and the spotlight is now turned to MeeGo, the OS that Nokia worked with Intel.

Analysts have speculated, Nokia and Google will meet to talk about Android. This meeting is considered reasonable given the Nokia undergone a transformation in their management. Nokia already has a new CEO, Stephen Elop, who was appointed last September.

Even so, Nokia is already repeatedly stated loyal to Symbian. Even an official Nokia has recently stated that Symbian is the best platform there is no reason for his company to use Android.
