Installing Windows on a Mac using Bootcamp Assistant should not a difficult thing. Simply download the PDF manual it from Apple’s website and follow the instructions step-by-step it, should be completed within 45 minutes -1 hour. But not impossible there are things outside of work that should be estimated so easily it could create a headache and drain energy.
Just as yesterday tried to use Bootcamp to install Windows XP on the Macbook, I get an error message like this:

mac-boocamp
Different ways and tips from the internet have been tried, ranging from using the Disk Utility to Rebuilt permissions, use 3rd party software to defrag the hard drive for hours, it still can not!, The only way should reformat and re-install OS X-it?, Doh! x(
Fortunately there are friends who comment and give tips Facebook status through GTalk, eventually partitioning affairs in order and then it’s a walk in the (small) park! (“Small park” because there are some minor problems at the end of the installation)
Make you have ever experienced the same frustration, hopefully these tips can help:
1. Use Disk Inventory X to identify the files are large.
Error message appears because it seems Bootcamp requires a continuous space to be able to create partitions and there may be large files scattered on your hard drive space. For that first step is to identify the big files are to be moved temporarily. Use Disk Inventory X-application (freeware), visual interface will greatly help us identify those files.

2. Move while large files to external hard drive.
When large files are identified, move temporarily to the external hard drive. Also move the large-sized applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Acrobat, etc.. Files and applications can be moved back later when the Windows installation is complete.
3. Sleep Delete Image.
Sleep is the image of hard drive space used by the OS-X for the storage of data from the RAM when the Mac in the hibernating / sleep, in order to be restored quickly when Mac switched on again, or our jobs are not lost when the battery suddenly runs out. The size is usually proportional to the amount of RAM your Mac. Here’s how to disable and delete to sleep image (source website):
Run through the Terminal:
$ sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
$ sudo nvram “use-nvramrc?”=false
Restart your Mac and delete files sleepimage at the following location: /private/var/vm (Tip: With Disk Inventory X, it’s easier to find files sleepimage this). To restore it again, run it through the Terminal command again by changing the value “hibernatemode” to “3″ and “=false”to”=true”
4. Turn off File Vault
See here for how to turn off File Vault.
When these steps have been done, try to re-open the Bootcamp Assistant to partition your hard drive. It should now all will go well!
Note:
There is one small thing that could ‘hinder’ I install Windows XP via Bootcamp. After running the installation CD of Windows XP and Mac do the automatic restart, a message appears on the screen:
“Press any key to reboot from CD”
Do not press the keyboard when it is displayed!
By default, the system will restart through the newly created Windows partition. So when you press a keyboard, it will repeat the process of formatting the partition to start from scratch again!
OK, good luck!
