Vevo music video website plans to launch a program to support new artists. The program is called ‘Elevator’ and is expected to introduce music fans to new artists.

The first new artist to be promoted by Vevo in this new program is Jessie J, a singer and songwriter from England who has written songs for artists kinds of Miley Cyrus.

As quoted from Mashable, artist of the Elevator program will be presented in Vevo website through a series of promotional programs such as interviews, videos from backstage, a video premiere and live concert performances.

Vevo also add social media elements to its site that allows users to ask to the artist via Twitter and Facebook. Even Vevo also make an application for Facebook, which allows fans to help artists publish their music.

Programs to support new artists by social media is not a new thing. Previously, YouTube also has a program and companion to a similar program. Even BitTorrent also has Featured Artists Program to support the artist / new talent.

Growth of programs such as these indicate that currently the Internet’s role is very vital for the music industry.
