Cisco released a warning to users of smart phones and tablets will attack from cyber criminals.

“At the turning point of cyber crime, the perpetrators of crimes have begun to change their focus from Windows-based PCs to the OS and other platforms, including smart phones, tablet computers, and mobile platforms in general,” said Cisco’s party, in its annual security report. Similarly, as quoted from ABC15.

“There are some problems when people download a virus along with the application to their mobile phone, or when making a purchase online at sites that are not safe,” said detective Keith Swanson, who works in the department computer crime units.

Swanson said that the main reason criminals are directed to a smart phone because the device is is not as safe as Windows desktop PCs .

“Our prediction is the Windows platform to increase its security to the point where the perpetrators chose to move the target, namely to other platforms, ie mobile devices,” said Patrick Peterson of Cisco.

Detective Swanson believes that until the security industry for mobile devices increase, the safest way to stay safe, is to avoid doing banking transactions and purchases using credit card via a smart phone.

Detective Swanson also pointed to some software to make your smart phone users stay safe.
