YouTube, owned by Google, is reportedly in talks with Next New Networks, to buy the internet TV network.
Google says that the move was taken to improve the quality of video on the site Next New, and also to raise revenue from advertising. Similarly, as quoted from CBR Online.
YouTube is now facing competition from other video providers, like Hulu, Netflix, and web broadcasters like ABC and CBS. YouTube on the acquisition effort is intended to add a view on their site.
Next New founded in 2007 by Fred Seibert, Herb Scannell, Emil Rensing, Timothy Shey and Jed Simmons in New York. Since then, Next New has resulted in funding of USD27 million. The company is the home of online television network for Barely Political, Channel Frederator, Fast Lane Daily, and Indy Mogul.
The company is one of the top content providers TouTube with more than 5.7 million subscribers.
When Google bought YouTube in 2006, they have to pay $ 1, 65 billion.
