After the emergence of mobile PlayStation video on YouTube some time ago, finally Sony Ericsson (SE) actually release a phone that is now called Xperia Play.
PlayStation phone is finally officially introduced the SE together with the event Mobile World Congress 2011 (MWC 2011) in Barcelona. As quoted from Neowin, Xperia Play will unify the quality of PlayStation games, the Android OS.
When used in portrait mode, the Xperia Play has the look like another Android phone, with a 5 megapixel camera, as well as multi-touch touch screen 4 inch 480×584 pixel resolution. The difference is, this phone has a keypad like a PlayStation game with the X button, box, triangle and O on the right side.
From the ‘innards’, Xperia Play embedded processor 1 Ghz made by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. In addition, these products have been equipped Adreno GPU. According to Sony, with the GPU is capable of displaying graphics Xperia Play games at 60 fps, and claimed to be better able to conserve battery life.
With this, the Xperia Play became the first handset with PlayStation certification. This means that products with this certification can access content PlaySation exclusively through a portal called the PlayStation Suite, which is scheduled for release next year.
Some game developers such as EA, Gameloft is currently producing games such as Need for Speed, Sims 3, Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed. The phone also supports multiple applications in the Android Market. This means that users do not need to wait for these games from the PlayStation exclusive Suite, before actually implemented next year.
