Norton by Symantec announced a beta version of Norton AntiVirus 2012 and Norton Internet Security which won the award, which is now available for download from the Norton beta website.

Norton 2012 beta to improve performance and protection that already exist in the fastest and lightest security products in the industry. Improvements include major security enhancements, including the ability to assess the level of security and stability of applications before the installation process.

“As we have proved over the years, we are committed to arming the consumer against cyber crime with protections as strong as possible, without slowing down their computer,” said Jens Meggers, vice president of engineering for Norton products, said through its official statement.


“Our goal with the launch of Norton 2012 is to continue to raise standards in the protection and performance,” he added.

This beta product displays feature Insight 3.0, the latest version of reputation-based security technology that is only owned by Norton, which utilizes software anonymously adoption patterns of millions of Symantec users that contribute to automatically identify and block new software that is dangerous.

Download Insight, a security check every file that is downloaded before being allowed to run, has been updated this year to be able to provide information that tells the user if the downloaded application may cause stability issues if they install it to their PC.

Beta product also includes SONAR behavioral-based protection with enhanced 4.0, which monitors suspicious behavior from the applications that are working to rapidly identify and stop threats that were previously unknown.

Norton Internet Security Beta Norton Identity Safe features a refurbished, with a simpler interface, login detection technology and a better form, and the ability to store passwords in the cloud so that they can be accessed from any computer using Norton 360 or Norton Internet Security.

Both Norton 2012 beta products allow consumers to save bandwidth by delaying the Norton activity that does not really matter to a later time, which is especially useful for consumers who subscribe to the Internet with a limited data plan.
