Consumers who care about calorie content in foods, would be very careful before eating a meal. Well, now there are exciting mobile applications that can help them.
No need to bother to figure out or even bring calculators to determine the amount of calories. Simply by taking pictures of food with a camera phone, and an application called Meal Snap will tell you how many calories are contained in it.
Meal Snap made ??DailyBurn application developers, for now only available for the iPhone. This application can identify anything, from a bag of potato chips until rib roast.
But the CEO said DailyBurn Andy Smith, the application calculates the specific food items. For example, counting the number of calories in a turkey sandwich, turkey sandwich is not a plus with a piece of cheese and mayonnaise. The result of calculations based on counting calories and reference books refer to the database of nutritional information.
Smith acknowledged that this application is not always accurate in identifying the dang food calculate calories. “Accuracy is not paramount, deliberately keep a record of food eaten someone is the greatest benefit from counting calories,” he said.
According to him, as quoted by Mashable, with Meal Snap, users automatically create a kind of diary which contains useful information on what foods are eaten.
