Smartphone manufacturer HTC has confirmed that they are currently working in making smart phones with a new version of Windows Phone.
Software updated, known as Windows Phone 7.5, known as Mango, was introduced yesterday and is available for developers. HTC, although it makes most of its fame from the line of Android phones, is one of the first to comment on the presence of cell autonomously in Mango.
In an interview with Reuters, HTC CEO Peter Chou said, “We have several Windows mobile Mango. We are very committed to the Windows mobile products,” he said, quoted by TG Daily.
Before the launch of Android in 2008, HTC is a company that is less known in the United States. But then it became the first Android device manufacturers, T-Mobile G1, and immediately became a strong competitor in the mobile space.
It has also formed strong relationships with other companies, including Microsoft. He is a vocal supporter of the Windows Mobile platform before, became one of the last companies to invest in this platform.
With a strong position in the market, HTC has said it expects to double revenue this quarter, something that has been achieved in the previous quarter with ease.
Windows Phone Mango expected to present to consumers just as this fall, although Microsoft is not willing to give a more specific launch target. Chou also would not comment on when this Mango-based HTC phone will be launched.
