Correspondents say that the three products each Apple AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule stations experienced late production. It can be seen from the existing stock in a number of Apple retail stores that continue to decrease without any additional supply from Apple.
The existence of this fact led to speculation about the existence of new versions of three products which will be presented at WWDC 2011. One thing of special concern is about the new Time Capsule that will get updates that will allow the function cache for software updates. In other words, Time Capsule will recognize that the existing devices in the network, check for software updates available, download the update it in the background, and later will give an update on other devices within a short time without having to go through the download process again.
Another speculation also mentions that the cache feature that will allow users to store files locally to avoid iCloud pause/delay that appears in between songs or movie files.
And the most unique of all the speculation is about the iOS running on the new Time Capsule. And to support the iOS is the Time Capsule will be equipped with chips A4 or A5. If that is true then the Time Capsule will open a crack for iPad and iPhone to connect to iCloud also be integrated with the local network to improve the streaming speed.
It sounds very sensible. We wait for what Steve Jobs said in the keynote WWDC 2011, June 6. A few hours more…
