Apple may be planning to stop production of 13-inch White MacBook this year. That was said by Ming-Chi Kuo of Concord Securities. As noted on the site AppleInsider, Kuo said that the White MacBook 13-inch shipments will be reduced in large numbers from August this year. It is believed as an indication that Apple will soon end the 13-inch White MacBook. The laptop was released in May 2006 to replace the iBook and PowerBook.
Monthly shipments for the MacBook Core 2 Duo has dropped to less than 100,000 units. The amount that means less than 10% of the total shipments of Apple Macs. Analysts also predict that the MacBook Air would be a proper replacement for 13-inch White MacBook.
MacBook Air is priced at $ 999 it has an aluminum unibody also very thin and lightweight design. Besides the MacBook Air is able to work fast and reliable for data storage because it uses solid-state flash memory. But the MacBook Air model that also has some disadvantages when compared with the White MacBook, the screen is smaller (11 inches) and a fewer number of ports, also no Ethernet.
