The new models of laptops from Apple: MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro has a security flaw that allows hackers to remotely can block the battery from charging. Moreover, the hackers could exploit the security flaw was to make the battery explode!
Technology ‘smart battery in Apple laptop new model is intended to provide a more dominant control on battery power usage. Unfortunately, it also gives hackers an opportunity to participate because the microcontroller chip that controls mounted on the laptop could be accessed remotely using the default passwords that are shared by every notebook.
Charlie Miller was the first person who discovered the security flaw in Apple’s laptops. Miller is an expert on security system and now he plans to show the defects that he meant it. He will show them to the public next month at a security conference called Black Hat. There, Miller will show that it is capable of accessing the battery from the remote controller and is able to block the charging is done on the battery. Or, even able to show how he controls remotely so the battery heats up and then burst into flames.
“The battery is certainly not designed to give people the opportunity to spoil it,” Miller said in Forbes last week. “That will I show here is that your battery is an opportunity for people to use it with a bad purpose.”
Happily, Miller will not only show his hacking abilities but will also provide a solution to fix the defect. It is expected Apple will adopt Miller’s suggestion immediately.
