The reason Steve Jobs, why the iPhone and iPad not support Flash
Responding to criticism that spread in various media, Apple CEO Steve Jobs told the reason of his company’s decision not to use Adobe Flash on iPhone mobile, iPod and iPad device. He thinks the lack of Flash support is not used, not as an attempt to protect the App store but rather the reason for the lack of technological support.
Jobs’ Apple outlines five reasons for refusing to use Flash:

- Reliability, security and performance: Based on performance records, Flash has “one of the worst safety record in 2009,” according to Symantec. Flash “less work properly on mobile devices.”
- Batteries: Flash spend almost double the battery usage. For example, the iPhone can play H.264 video up to 10 hours, while the video plays in Flash can only be less than five hours before the battery runs out.
- Touch Format: Flash designed for the PC by using the mouse, not to touch screen / touch screen.
