Located in Tokyo, Sony Corporation last week announced the Walkman portable player based on Android to be launched in Japan on December 10. A device that resembles this smartphone will be the first series of Sony’s “Z” and is expected to deliver high quality sound for enjoying movies, audio and other Android apps.
Sony presents 3 options each have a 16GB version (NW-Z1050 model) is priced at $ 365, 32GB version (model NW-Z1060) at a price of $ 430 and the 64GB version (NW-Z1070 model) is priced at $ 560.
With the presence of the first series, Sony is hoping to get a digital music player market to even greater in Japan. A total of 6 million digital music player will be taken into account sold until March 2012.
Presented at The Mainichi Daily News, Toshimichi Nagashima, head of Sony’s mobile business group, Sony has indicated a desire to bring Walkman Z player to the market outside Japan, although Nagashima did not mention more details.

A Japanese site AV Watch reports that the Sony Walkman Z will be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and 512 MB ??of RAM. Player is also equipped with a Li-ion battery for up to 20 hours of music playback, 1080p HD video playback, HDMI output, Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth.
Physically, this device has a size of 134.4 mmx70, 9mmx11, 1mm and weight reached 156 grams. Sony Walkman Android-based prototype is shown in the IFA 2011 event which took place in Berlin some time ago under the name “Walkman Mobile Entertainment Player”.
