Mafia II game banned in UAE

Game-MaviaMafia II computer game has been banned in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by the National Media Council. This prohibition itself is claimed directly by the distributor in Dubai-based games to Arabian Business.

Video games, which is expected to be launched in the UAE in late August, has been banned by the National Media Council (NMC). Sony Firmware update, to prevent PS3 Jailbreak

PS-3Sony released what they call a ‘minor’ update to the PS3. This is to prevent anyone who was tempted by one of two jailbreaks that have made attacks during recent weeks.

Firmware update 3.42 includes ‘additional security feature’ that eliminates the possibility of using either PS Jailbreak or open source versions of Groove PS. Similarly quoted by PC World, Wednesday (08/09/2010).
